How we help

Support built around conversation

Community support

Lets-Talk is committed to enhancing mental health through effective communication. Our goal is to break down barriers and make wellbeing support accessible to all.

Peer support

Having a reliable social support network can be a powerful buffer against stress. Friends and groups offer support, fresh perspectives, and practical advice during challenging times. Do not isolate yourself — reach out to someone you trust. Sometimes, just talking about it can offer a fresh perspective and lighten your emotional load.

Active listening & empathy

Offering an empathetic ear to someone else can also serve as a way of coping for you. It can make you feel valued and put your own problems into perspective.

Workshops & events

We believe community involvement is vital for mental health. Our sessions provide social connections, peer support, and group activities designed to create a supportive environment. We aim to reduce feelings of isolation and promote shared understanding through accessible community events — all with language and translation support to include everyone.

Recognising a crisis

Signs to look out for

Support is there for anyone facing a mental health crisis. You may notice:

  • Changes to your mood
  • Withdrawing from people — close family, friends or work colleagues
  • Not taking care of yourself like you usually would
  • Having increased thoughts about your life not being worth living
  • Excessive worry
  • Feeling out of control or unable to cope
  • Feeling anxious
  • Thinking of harming yourself

Everyday wellbeing

Five ways to wellbeing

Connect

Stay connected with family, friends, neighbours and your community. Join a conversation group, attend community activities, share your experiences and support one another.

Be active

Moving your body can improve both physical and mental wellbeing. Take a walk, join an exercise session, try gentle stretching or take part in community activities.

Take notice

Pause and appreciate the world around you. Notice nature and seasonal changes, reflect on positive moments, practise gratitude and take time for yourself.

Keep learning

Learning new skills helps build confidence and resilience — improve your English language skills, learn about health and wellbeing, attend workshops and training, or try something new.

Give

Acts of kindness benefit both you and others. Volunteer in your community, offer support to someone who needs it, share your knowledge and skills, or make someone smile.
