Women's exercise group

A huge well done to Nu for delivering our weekly women's chair-based exercise sessions, which have gone from strength to strength. The group has grown steadily, with more women joining each week to improve their physical health, wellbeing, confidence, and social connections in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The popularity of the sessions means we are now looking at moving to a larger room to accommodate everyone who wants to attend — a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the positive impact the group is having within our community.

Thank you to every woman who attends each week, encourages one another, and helps create such a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Together we are building stronger, healthier communities, one step, stretch and smile at a time.

Wellbeing

Men's group

Men's groups have been busy in both the classroom and attending events outdoors to improve mental health and wellbeing and improve their conversational English.

Sometimes supporting mental health is about creating space… space to breathe, share experiences, build friendships, and feel part of something bigger. Moments like these help reduce isolation, build confidence, and remind us that wellbeing grows through connection, community and belonging.

Community lunch and community group

Join the community lunch and activity groups each Friday at St Philemon's, where the community can get together, talk about health and wellbeing, participate in some light chair-based exercise, art and crafts, and talk to others in their own language — reducing social isolation in a warm, friendly hub.

Big thanks to Feeding Liverpool and Neighbourly for assisting in food provision.

“I come each week to the knitting group so meet new people and get out the home, only place I have.”

Understanding mental health and coping skills

Umama delivered a talk on mental trauma, discussing what it truly means, how it can affect individuals, and the importance of recognising its signs early. We explored healthy coping strategies, the power of community support, and how empathy and open conversations can help in the healing process.

It was truly meaningful to engage with people, raise awareness, and remind everyone that mental wellbeing matters just as much as physical health.

Digital Champions

Digital Champions

We are pleased that our volunteers joined LCR training for Digital Champions to help in the groups, to support people getting online and removing barriers to accessing online services. Well done to you all — so proud of you, and thanks for being amazing volunteers. With their help we cover 17 different languages.

We are also part of the Good Things Foundation and National Databank, which helps provide digital SIMs to remove barriers.

RSMP Practical ESOL support project

We were awarded support from the North West Regional Strategic Migration Partnership (RSMP) to run a 20-week course supporting refugees from Afghanistan, Ukraine and Hong Kong.

The course provided practical ESOL support around healthcare, mental health, accessing services, improving confidence and community engagement. This project was very popular and very well attended, and it has been able to continue.

Parkinson's UK awareness sessions

Great having Emma and Beth from Parkinson's UK come and hold awareness sessions with language support, providing a safe space to let people ask questions and understand about Parkinson's. Thank you for getting some leaflets translated — it helped being able to use them in future sessions.

It was great to also have Geoff, community engagement from Merseyside Police, who joined the group and discussed the Herbert Protocol — a document used to help find a missing person.

Ashraf — fighting for a cause

On 11th July, Ashraf stepped into the ring at the Liverpool Olympia, not just to take on an opponent, but to raise awareness and support for the work of Lets-Talk2day CIC.

Ashraf took on this challenge to help us continue providing vital mental health and wellbeing support, language-inclusive services, community activities, and practical support for people facing barriers, isolation and hardship across Liverpool.

We are incredibly grateful to Ashraf for choosing to support our work and for using this opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
